When it comes to digital marketing there are many ways that you can go about introducing your brand and its services. You can start a social media page and begin getting the word out to your target audience through hashtags and related postings. Or you could spread the word to trusted friends and colleges who will then share your business through word of mouth. But one of the most impactful ways to get the word buzzing about your business is through video marketing.

Video marketing is another way of marketing your brand, business, and services through a more engaging and personal way. Information can be long to read and overwhelming to process. If the bulk of what you have to say about your business and the services you provide are text-heavy, this can lead to a loss in the viewer’s attention. With a video you can hone in on the key points that you wish to inform your
target audience with added humor, music, and a feel for your personality.

Types of Videos

  1. Story-Driven
  2. Informational (How-To)
  3. Show and Tell

Story-Driven videos are perfect for marketing your business that has a compelling story behind it. This form of marketing allows you to get intimate and personal with your audience through a personal story that connects with why you started your business in the first place. This is perfect for “Mom & Pop” businesses who may have a legacy that they wish to continue through the continuation of their business and trusted services.

How-To videos are more informational and targeted towards educating the audience towards achieving a goal. The more videos of these that are made, the better the trust you build with your target audience. This assures your audience that you are a credible source for understanding exactly how to achieve that goal.

Show and Tell videos are more task oriented in which they demonstrate how to complete something rather than simply assuring the audience that it’s possible. This is perfect for marketing a business in cooking, fitness, or DIY in which they ensure results by following their visual demonstration.

How to distribute videos for your services

The most popular form is through 15-30 second advertisement videos. That is plenty of time to address your target audience, explain your services, and how it can be accessed. The viewer will most likely want to hear and be informed about something in a short and timely fashion, instead of reading into it through a long post. This can also be achieved in a 60 second video.

Another form of execution is through visual advertisements. Much like a video, an advertisement will display a visual representation of what services your business provides, the cost, and a convincing quote about why you should look into them. For example: “Change your lifestyle in 30 days or less”.

A great way of executing a video for one’s business is to get to know who it is that you are making a video for. Begin that personal connection by first getting to know the business and their brand. Next, schedule a time and place to meet them and begin storyboarding a video that explains who they are and what services they provide. This can begin with an introduction to who are the faces of the business, why their brand is one you can trust, and display results from consumers of who have had success with their brand in the past. These videos typically tend to be longer in length as this is an opportunity to give a potential consumer a complete rundown of who and what it is they’ll be investing their time, money, and word of mouth with.
